Peppermint oil, produced by distillation, is called menthol oil. It is a volatile gas with a pungent aromatic scent and is known for its analgesic, calming, and nerve-strengthening properties, as well as its ability to relieve stress and tension. Benefits: It facilitates digestion, eliminates stomach upset, relieves stomach pain and cramps, and expels gas. It is beneficial for treating sunburn and skin irritation due to its cooling effect. It is a powerful nerve tonic, muscle relaxant, and relieves stress, fatigue, and nervous tension. It treats joint inflammation, rheumatism, and neuralgia. It is included in many cough medicines for its ability to clear the chest and airways. It combats oily secretions on the skin, protects it from acne, clarifies it, and gives it radiance and vitality. Relieves the effects of insect and mosquito bites. Promotes hair growth: Peppermint oil contains properties that stimulate hair growth as it can penetrate the scalp surface and stimulate hair follicles. How to use peppermint oil: Mix 2–3 drops of peppermint oil with a tablespoon of a carrier oil such as jojoba oil, coconut oil, or sweet almond oil. Gently massage the scalp for 3–5 minutes and leave the mixture on the scalp for 20–30 minutes. Then wash your hair with a suitable anti-dandruff shampoo. For best results: Repeat application 2–3 times a week. Be sure to cleanse your scalp regularly. If you have a sensitive scalp, test the mixture on a small area of skin before use.
