The inner center of aloe vera leaves contains a viscous, transparent gel called aloe vera gel. This gel can be extracted and used in many cosmetics, burn treatments, and other beauty applications. It contains numerous components that help moisturize and nourish the skin, as well as antioxidants that help mitigate the harmful effects of sun exposure. Aloe vera gel is rich in vitamins C and E, as well as beta-carotene. It is also 99% water, making it an excellent skin moisturizer that nourishes the skin and helps prevent wrinkles. Aloe vera gel helps prevent hair loss due to its content of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals that nourish and regenerate hair, increasing its elasticity and preventing breakage. It also moisturizes the scalp, helping to eliminate dandruff. Research indicates that applying the gel to the face morning and evening, in addition to using prescribed acne treatments, improves acne by up to 35%.
